Is wireless Internet secure?
We employ newer, state of the art radio equipment, authentication encryption and algorithms to ensure as trouble free service as possible.

What kind of band-width can I expect?
Our Platinum package features transfer rates up to 1,500/320 Kbps. Gold is up to 768/256 Kbps, Silver is up to 384/128 Kbps, and our Copper service is up to 144/144 Kbps.

Is this really better than dial-up?
By orders of magnitude. Our least-expensive package, Copper, offers always-on connections at a transfer rate up to 144 k-bit per second. The best dial-up connections offer 56 k-bit per second average transfer. Our Platinum package lets you tap into our dedicated access lines, with transfer rates up to 30 times faster than 56k dial-up.

How many email addresses can I have?
With our Copper package, you can have up to 8 email addresses. Gold and Silver packages supply you with up to 10. Platinum gives you 20. Additional addresses cost $2.00 per month, each. All addresses end in '@gilpingold.com'.

Can I access my email from the web?
Yes. All of our packages allow you to send and receive your email via our website. You don't need to install any software, and there is no additional charge for this service.

Do you share my information with anybody?
Never. Our privacy policies mandate we never share any of your information with anyone, for any reason.

If this is wireless, will I lose signal every time the wind changes?
As with any other form of communication, occasional acts of God tend to hamper our efforts, so we can't guarantee 100% up-time. However, whereas extreme weather patterns will impede satellite services, our wireless internet has no clouds to get in the way or cables for trees to knock down.

Do you offer Public Static IP addresses?
Yes we can. For an additional $5 per month, each, you can have as many static IP addresses as you want.

Will my connection be symmetrical?
Your connection speed will depend on the purchased package. See the details page to learn more.

On which frequency do you transmit, and will my connection compete with cell-phones?
For security purposes, we can't list the frequencies we broadcast. However, we can tell you that we transmit in the microwave band, well out of the way of cellular telephones, CB radios, and baby monitors.

Do you require any third-party software for access?
Not at all. All you need to connect to Gilpin Gold is is any internet browser and for email any industry compliant email client that supports POP3 and SMTP.
